Johnson's Seed+Honey Sandwich Treat (for Hamsters+Gerbils)
This review is on a treat I recently bought in my local pet shope. It only cost 83p and is a complete bargain!
It has wafer on either side of the seed and honey filling and looks just like a real sandwich! It is quite big, about the same size as a fully-grown Syrian, which I think, is rather too big. What I do, is cut off a small corner, but that's quite difficult too, as it is very hard and your scissors or a knife slips. When I give my hamster a bit of this, she munches is up and loves it! The ingredients in this are all natural, and has no colourings or flavourings, so you know you are giving your hamster the best you can.
The only problem I have with this treat is that honey is basically pure sugar. Although it is natural, it still has lots of sugar in it and feeding this too often could result in an over-weight hamster! I would not feed this treat whole, as they could live on this sandwich without the usual feeds for at least a week. That means that you are giving them double what they need, so it's best to cut it into halves or quarters. My hamster really enjoys this treat, although it is high in sugar and very big, so I am giving it a:
9/10
P.S: Please do not feed sugary treats as part of the hamster's regular diet. Large treats like this should not be fed more that 1x per week.
